Werent, a leading aerial platforms, lifts and mobile cranes rental company, is pleased to announce the arrival in its fleet of a new Scania tractor unit powered by biogas. This innovative vehicle represents a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable future.

Scania G340 biogas: features and advantages

The biogas-powered Scania G340 tractor is equipped with a 340 HP Euro 6 5-cylinder in-line engine and a load capacity of 13 tonnes. Thanks to the use of this new technology, the company will be able to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to the fight against climate change.

What is biogas

Biogas is a renewable energy source obtained from the fermentation of organic waste, such as agricultural residues, food waste and sewage sludge. This process occurs under controlled conditions, such as in biodigesters, where microorganisms decompose organic matter without the presence of oxygen.

Biogas is considered a low environmental impact fuel because during its combustion it releases fewer greenhouse gases than traditional fossil fuels such as oil and coal.

Werent's commitment to the environment

Werent has always been committed to minimizing its environmental impact, thanks to a wide range of electric vehicles in its fleet. The introduction of this new tractor further highlights this commitment: using biogas as a fuel, in fact, represents an excellent solution for the disposal of organic waste and for the production of clean energy, thus contributing to the sustainable management of waste. Furthermore, in this way Werent can contribute to reducing pollution and at the same time support the local economy.

Michele Marraffa, Director of the Marraffa-Werent Group, said: "Investing in green technologies is an integral part of our strategy to reduce the impact of our business on the environment. We are excited to add this new biogas-powered tractor to our fleet , demonstrating our concrete commitment to a more sustainable future".

Pasquale Marraffa, Head of Werent's Purchasing Department, stated: "The entry of this new vehicle is the tangible sign that for us at Werent, sustainability is not an opinion, but a mission. We will continue to look for innovative solutions to make our activities have less and less impact on the environment".

Giovanni Marraffa, Project Manager of Werent, added: "The purchase of a new biogas-powered vehicle represents the latest in a series of investments by the Group in the field of sustainability. From our fleet of electric vehicles available for rental, up to to the management policies of our offices, which include the installation of photovoltaic panels, the implementation of home automation solutions to optimize consumption, the promotion of reforestation and the adoption of practices for the reuse of objects, accessories and vehicle parts from dispose of".
