Werent contributed to the successful launch of a railway bridge weighing over 600 tonnes on the new high-speed and high-capacity Naples–Bari railway line, supplying Marraffa with the Enerpac JS-250 jack-up lifting system, along with telehandlers and aerial platforms.

The project, carried out between Amorosi and Melizzano in the province of Benevento, represents a key milestone in the development of a strategic infrastructure for mobility in Southern Italy. In this context, the rental of advanced technologies proved essential to efficiently manage the operational complexities of the job site.

600-tonne railway bridge: a high-complexity project

The bridge deck stands out for its significant size and technical features: it measures 65 meters in length, weighs over 600 tonnes, and spans a waterway approximately 30 meters wide.

After an initial phase in which the structure was placed on temporary supports, Marraffa handled the most critical operations—lifting and final positioning—using the system provided by Werent.

The value of Werent rental solutions in heavy lifting operations

The supply of the Enerpac JS-250 system by Werent ensured a technologically advanced, reliable, and ready-to-use solution for this highly specialized operation.

The system was configured with four lifting units, one at each corner of the bridge deck, enabling:

  • Lifting the structure up to approximately 4 meters in height;
  • Maintaining constant and synchronized control throughout operations;
  • Handling exceptional loads with maximum safety.

Once the required height was reached, the bridge was temporarily positioned on the jack-up system barrels, allowing the next operational phase to begin.

Lateral bridge translation: precision and control

Following the lifting phase, the deck was laterally translated by 15 meters using hydraulic gantry cranes provided by Marraffa. This operation enabled precise positioning of the structure onto the concrete piers.

Why choose the Enerpac JS-250 jack-up system rental

Renting the Enerpac JS-250 jack-up system through Werent represents a strategic solution for companies involved in heavy lifting and bridge launching operations.

Key advantages of the JS-250 system include:

  • Fully synchronized and highly controlled lifting
  • High operational safety standards
  • Flexibility and adaptability in complex environments

Werent: technology partner for strategic infrastructure projects
